Rapper-singer Yo Yo Honey Singh has made his comeback with his album Glory. He is also riding high on the success of his latest Netflix documentary, Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous. Recently, he opened up about his 15-year-long feud with Badshah and his wish to end their case.
Honey Singh on Badshah’s recent wish to end their feud
Honey Singh dismissed Badshah’s recent wish to end their years-long feud, calling it insincere. Speaking to India Today, he said, “He is one of those who spits and then licks it back; just watch, he’ll flip again.
Earlier this year, Badshah, during a concert at GraFest 2024, expressed a desire to reconcile with Honey Singh. Badshah said, “There was a phase in my life where I held this grudge against one person, and now I want to call it quits and leave that grudge behind – and that’s Honey Singh. I was unhappy because of some misunderstanding, but then I realised when we were together, jodne waale bahut kam the, todne waale bahut the (those wanting to unite us were far fewer than those trying to break us apart). Today, I just want to let everyone know I’ve left that phase behind, and I wish him all the best.”
Reacting to which, Honey Singh stated, “People often ask me about my fight, my controversy with Badshah. A fight happens between two people when both are involved, but for 10 years, one man kept abusing me, making songs about me, mocking my illness, and I never responded.”
“It was only this year, in 2024, that I started speaking up, and that too because of my fans. My fans sent me DMs saying, ‘Please speak up, this is about our dignity now. A man is continuously speaking ill about you.’ As a result, he apologised and admitted his mistake. But he is one of those who spits and then licks it back; just watch, he’ll flip again. I don’t consider people like that to be anything,” Honey added.
Along with rappers Ikka, Lil Golu, and Raftaar, Badshah and Honey Singh started their careers as members of the rap trio Mafia Mundeer. The trio released a number of popular songs, including Delhi Ke Deewane, Begani Naar Buri, and Khol Botal. But following a public backlash, the two parted ways and frequently made fun of one another on social media.
